20 questions capstone

1. What strategy do you think will work best to build the tallest marshmallow tower?
The best strategys could be from planning out and drawing ideas, to having triangler supports to buld it.
2. Which do you think will work better a group effort or a one man team? the better team would be a group effort. im saying this because if one man team you have to plan your self an build it your self an ther may be steps in your building planl. were as if in  a group each person can have a specific role and complete what needed to be done correctly and in a timely remainer to build the tower.

3. Is the time allotment adequate? Or is more time needed to plan out and think?
the time allowed is very tough because by time you are done planning and start building you only have 10 to 15 min. If had set time for each part would be of great help. in example, 10min to plan out, 20min to build and another 10min to review over and test and make corrections.

4. What skills do you think will benefit a group? some skills that will  benefit a group is one person being very hands on, one being into building, an another good at structures an giving ideas or planning out.

5. What learning styles perform best with this challenge? some learning styles that perform best with this challenge is hands on activies or hand, eye task.

6. If this is enjoyable activity to you what are specific majors in college would you enroll? if enjoy this task some specific majors in college are enginneering, Architectural, blueprinting.

7. Does high school classes such as standard, academic, honors, accelerated matter this challenge? none of these criterias should matter. this is due to people having different skills and being better than others in certain areas.

8. What’s the best environment for you or your team to work in? the best environment to work in is different some people need noise an some like it quiet. the best way to do this is being in a large room with alot space to spread and walk around an manuver with in being not to loud and close together but there being plenty space and some noise.

9. Should there be any additional materials given to help make the challenge more effective? if given extra materials there should be given boundries or set a critera to meet. this could be for example a minium height of 10in. or have no matterials remaining.

10. Should the school hold a challenge between the sci. classes to build school spirit and team work? no, i say this because it doesnt really do much yes it can build team work but it will later be forgotten and things will go back to how they were.

11. How many members should make up a group? an average group should only contain 4-5. this is because if have anymore some will be left out and not do any work or take part, this is just enough to have everyone to be working on something an helping each other an talk about one another.

12. What is the height you want to reach? And what do you think the tallest is? the height me an the average person wants to reach is 15in. An many have said the tallest is about 37in.

13. Would hands on skilled be a big help to this challenged compared to a geniuses with computers? it could go either way a person that is very hands on could come up with a great idea were as a genius  with computers can look at others an plan out and configure it to be the best but will take longer an he him self might not be able to build it due to someone that is hands on skilled.

14. Out of elementary, Jr. High, and high school which of the three would do better at this challenge? out of the three schools it could be between the elementary and highschool. i say this because the elementary will be the simple and easy way of building that can succeed and still be very effictive and tall. while the highschool will plan out an go into depth but with not enough time planning they can fail but if do succeed they can surpass elementary with overwhelming heights.

15. If given a practice run of 10min and then given the full amount 18min to do challenge will any changes be made to improve? Yes, many changes can be made to improve this challenge. because time given to practice an fix mistakes in certain areas to help improve on actual challenge.

16. During the process which step requires the most time? the step that requires the most time needed would be the planning out due to trying to build the tallest an having the best structure to keep up- right and not collapse.

17. Would an after school academic engineering building team, bring in people that are hands on and build skills for life lessons and future job outlooks? yes this could greatly help students with there future and help with there skills and also enjoy something they like to do.

18. Does this challenge help you build team work and communication skills? this challenge can help you in many of verious ways. some ways this challenge can help is with it being a hands on activity and building skills. also the communication needed to succeed in this challenge is a key an vital skill need an can improve from this. an also due to being more then one on a team an being multiple there is team work need so they all have to work together to succeed an with this challenge they can improve.

19. Should teachers be allowed to help you while in challenge to give advice for success? teachers should be allowed to help but only verbally not physically they can point out spots they may need fixing to help succeed and keep giving confidence by saying great job, keep up the good work or something similar to keep you incouraged.

20. After this challenge what did you learn from this experience? after this challenge i have learned on something that is a challenge and does require team work you are willing to make sacrifices to succeed. also learned that some things are ment to be a team effort and not just a one man team. this experience has teached me hands on skills, communication, and team work skills that will help you with your future and job.
